Background

When not using a 5c or D1 mount chuck on the 15L or 8L, you may find yourself running a part, that you may need to just get a touch closer to the collet. In this case, we can adjust the software limits, to allow you to get that little extra travel.

(warning) Adjusting soft limits, leave you more prone to machine crashes. Proceed with caution, and make sure to test run programs after adjusting limits.

Soft Limit Adjustment Process

All of the adjustments are made from the MDI, on the “Main” tab of PathPilot, using an ADMIN command, seen below:

After entering a command, like the one seen above, simply press enter. You will then see the following message on the “Status” tab:

To enter a command, changing the X Axis limits, simply replace “Z” with “X”.

You can also utilize the MDI line to show what your current limits are: (ADMIN SHOW_SOFT_LIMITS)
