Assemble the Machine Stand

You can use thread-locking fluid (not provided) on the screws during the assembly procedure.

  1. Before you begin assemby, we recommend that you put a large piece of cardboard (or similar) on the floor to protect the machine stand during certain steps that require access to the bottom of the stand.

  2. Find the four legs (PN 51493), the left side panel (PN 51498), and the right side panel (PN 51483). Make note of the following on each component:

    1. Identify the threaded holes in the legs — these are used for the door hinges. When assembled, the threaded holes must be facing forward.

    2. Identify the holes for the upper shelf on the side panels. When assembled, these holes must be toward the top of the stand's legs.

  3. Use three M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach two legs to the left side panel. Repeat this step to attach the remaining two legs to the right side panel.

Figure 1: Attaching the legs to the two side panels.
  1. Find the back panel (PN 51484). Use six M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach it to the two back legs.

Figure 2: Attaching the back panel to the two side panels.
  1. Find the bottom shelf (PN 51485). Use four M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach it to the two side panels.

Figure 3: Bottom shelf attached to the two side panels.
  1. Find the upper shelf (PN 51486). Use eight M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach it to the two side panels and the back panel.

Figure 4: Upper shelf attached to the two side panels and the back panel.
  1. Find the front panel (PN 51487). Use six M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach it to the two side panels and the bottom shelf.

Figure 5: Front panel attached to the two side panels.
  1. Lay the machine stand onto the cardboard on the floor.

  2. Find two bottom stiffeners (PN 51494). Attach them to the bottom of the machine stand as follows:

    1. Use six M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach one bottom stiffener to the two legs and the back panel of the machine stand.

Figure 6: Attaching the bottom stiffener to the back of the machine stand.

b. Use six M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach one bottom stiffener to the two legs at the front of the machine stand.

Figure 7: Attaching the bottom stiffener to the front of the machine stand.
  1. Move the machine stand back upright.

  2. Find the four door hinge assemblies (PN 51496), the left door (PN 51488), and the right door (PN 51489). Attach the doors as follows:

    1. Use four M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach two door hinge assemblies to the left door.

    2. Use four M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws to attach both door hinges to the left side of the front panel.

    3. Repeat Steps A through B to attach the remaining two door hinges to the right door and the right side of the front panel.

Figure 8: Attaching the door hinges to two doors and the front panel.
  1. Find the two door latches (PN 51495). Attach them to each door as follows:

    1. Remove the bracket from the back of the door latch, and temporarily set it aside.

Figure 9: Bracket on the back of the door latch.

b. Put the door latch through the opening of the door, and reinstall the bracket that you set aside in Step A.

Figure 10: Attaching the door latch to the door with the bracket.
  1. Find four top cover blocks (PN 51491), the top cover (PN 51490), and two top cover stiffeners (PN 51492). Assemble the top cover as follows:

    1. Align two of the top cover blocks with the pre-drilled holes on the left side of the top cover.

    2. Align one top cover stiffener to the underside of the top cover.

NOTE: Make sure that the inside of the stiffener faces the middle of the top cover.

c. Use two M12 × 20 mm socket head cap screws (PN 51503) to attach each top cover block to the top cover and the stiffener.

NOTE: The center hole in each top cover block is used to mount the machine to the chip pan.

d. Repeat Steps A through C to attach the remaining top cover blocks and top cover stiffeners to the right side of the top cover.

Figure 11: Top cover stiffener, top cover, and top cover blocks assembly.

e. Use one M12 × 20 mm socket head cap screw (PN 51503), one M12 flat washer (PN 32473), one M12 lock washer (PN 30321), and one M12 nut (PN 35283) to secure the ends of the top cover stiffeners to each corner of the top panel.

Figure 12: Upper support and top panel corner assembly.
  1. Use 12 M5 × 0.8 - 10 screws (PN 38205) to attach the top cover to the stand assembly.

Figure 13: Top panel attached.
  1. Lay the machine stand onto the cardboard on the floor.

  2. Find four M12 nuts (PN 35283) and four leveling feet (PN 36034). Attach the feet to the machine stand as follows:

    1. Put one M12 nut on each of the four leveling feet.

    2. Put each leveling foot into each leg as shown in the following image. Make sure that the M12 nut is on the bottom of the leg.

Figure 14: Attaching the feet.

c. Lift the machine stand off the floor, and set it down on its feet.

d. (Optional) Level the feet as needed.
