X Axis Gantry Alignment

If your X axis motion looses steps, you may need to perform a gantry alignment.  The gantry consists of  two Stainless rails and four rubber rail caps.  These caps have some positional adjustment to keep the rails co linear as the spindle assembly rides along them.  You'll need to remove much of the outer covers of the Router:

  • Power down your xsTECH router

  • Loosen the four screws (item 5) and remove the top cover (Item 3)

  • loosen the six screws located on the lower edge of the side covers (item 15 & 30)

  • Remove the side covers.  Be cautious of the DIN connectors on the left side cover.  They need not be disconnected, just moved to gain access to the gantry rail cap screws.

The X axis gantry adjustment is performed by:

  • Loosen the screws on the rail caps (Item 13, four screws per side)

  • Slide the spindle assembly to the right along the X axis as far as it can go.

  • Tighten the four rail cap screws on the right side

  • Slide the spindle assembly to the left along the X axis as far as it can go.

  • Tighten the four rail cap screws on the left side.

  • Power up the router and test for proper X axis motion

  • Reassembly the router covers.
