Adjusting Lathe Soft Limits
Background
When not using a 5C or D1 mount chuck on the 15L or 8L, you may find yourself running a part that you need to get a touch closer to the collet. In this case, you can adjust the software limits to get slightly more travel.
Caution! Adjusting the soft limits leaves you more prone to machine crashes. Only adjust the soft limits when absolutely necessary. After you’ve made the adjustment, proceed with caution and make sure to test run your programs.
